How To Treat Skin Allergies

Several different treatment methods might have to be tried before the right treatment is found for you. The most comnmon treatments are:
Antihistamines
Antihistamine Creams relieve the itching and redness of the skin caused by contact dermatitis. The antihistamine treatment works as a sedative and is mostly used at night so that a good nights rest is ensured. Antihistamines are also available as oral medication, the tablets block the immune system form interpreting substances that cause the allergy when touched, to be interpreted as 'dangerous' by the body's immune system.

Prevention of Skin Allergies
There are many things that you can do yourself to prevent your body from developing and experiencing skin allergies:
  • Use fragrance free products when suffering from allergies of skin. Fragrances in shampoos, body lotions etc can cause a fierce reaction and possible inflammation of the skin.
  • A good moisturising lotion will prevent the skin from drying out. The dryer the skin gets the moiré likely it is for the skin to occur inflammation.
